Our first author guest for 2024 will be Australian author and former journalist Tim Ayliffe. He will present at the wine bar on Friday, February 23, first questions at 7 pm.
He has been a journalist for 25 years and was until recently the Managing Editor of Television and Video for ABC News and the former Executive Producer of News Breakfast.
His fourth book Killer Traitor Spy is a political thriller with his main character John Bailey taking on Russians, Chinese and Australia's own.

Welcome
Two years ago, in February of 2021, as the world's borders were closing and the future was dim, we took a massive punt.
We opened a small wine bar and bookstore in the beautiful town of Boorowa.
Over the past two years, as borders remained closed, lockdowns were enforced and people stopped journeying, we managed to keep trading and build sustainable relationships throughout our town and region.
Now, as a result, we have become a place of welcome not only for locals looking for a place to gather and chat, but also a site of repose for weary travellers, discerning imbibers and avid readers.
We hope you too come in and join us over a book, a glass of wine and a fine small plate.

We welcome you to the home of the superb parrot -or as its mates call it the Polytelis swainsonii - and to some of the country's best merino sheep. When the canola is flowering we reckon it's quite spectacular too, and think you will too!
Oh, and before we forget, Boorowa is also in the heart of one of Australia's best kept secrets, the Hilltops wine region, producers of premium cool climate wines. James Halliday has awarded two of our region's vineyards - Moppity and Freeman - the coveted five stars.

We warmly invite you to engage in the gentle art of conversation, while reading and laughing, and sipping delights from Hilltops wine region and beyond, as well as sampling tasty treats from artisanal producers, both local and regional.

Our philosophy is simple:
we wish to highlight the wonderful cool climate wines produced in the Hilltops wine region.
As such we aim to champion local producers and be a source for visitors to our region to try these beauties.
We'll also surprise you with a few other delights - and even beer, some spirits, pots of tea and plunger coffee - changing these from time to time.

Like our wine list, our menu will change over time, showcasing artisanal and regional products.
We offer cheese boards that feature delights from Riverina cheese-mongers Coolamon Cheese, accompanied by pickles and delicious garnishes.
We supply charcuterie from a diversity of suppliers, including creators of great saucisson and salumi, especially from Pino's Dolce Vita Fine Foods.
Our bread includes products from Clementine Bakery in Yass, and our chutneys and sauces are from Ballinaclash from Young.
